The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms holds the distinction of being the original modern dive watch — beating the Submariner to market in 1953 and establishing the design language the entire category still follows. The Bathyscaphe line refined the Fifty Fathoms into a sleeker, more contemporary platform without sacrificing its 300-meter depth rating or tool-watch credibility. This ceramic reference takes the already impressive Bathyscaphe Complete Calendar and elevates the material story — the entire case is hand-finished black ceramic, offering near-total scratch resistance and a rich, matte-black presence that steel and titanium can't replicate. Inside sits the Caliber 6654.P.4, driving a full complete calendar with day, date, month, and moonphase — one of the only complications of this type housed in a true dive-spec case rated to 300 meters. The correctors are hidden beneath the lugs and require no tools, and Blancpain's secured setting mechanism protects the movement from damage during adjustment. The sunburst blue gradient dial against the black ceramic case is one of the most striking color combinations in the current Fifty Fathoms range, and the LiquidMetal bezel demarcations give the rotating insert a seamless, flush-set finish that conventional applied markers can't achieve.
