Within the steel Speedmaster Moonphase line, this is the reference that commits fully to blue. Where its closest siblings wear a stealthy black sun-brushed dial behind a black ceramic bezel, this piece pairs a deep blue sun-brushed dial with a matching blue ceramic bezel and blue Liquidmetal™ tachymeter — a cooler, more overtly celestial look that shifts from near-navy to bright cobalt as the sun-ray finish catches the light, with rhodium-plated indexes and hands keeping the contrast crisp.
It carries everything the line is celebrated for — the same in-house Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre and the same photo-realistic moonphase at six o'clock, a microstructured crystal disc rendering the lunar surface in NASA-photograph detail, right down to the hidden astronaut's-footprint tribute to Apollo 11 you can find under magnification — but in an all-steel case on a leather strap. That makes it the most wearable, understated expression of the family: dressier and lighter on the wrist than the steel-bracelet version, and far more discreet than the Sedna™ gold, yellow gold, and platinum editions, while giving up none of the mechanics or the complication.
