Model Background
The Rolex Sky-Dweller is the most complicated watch in the current Rolex catalog and one of the most mechanically ambitious pieces the brand has ever produced. Launched in 2012, it was built around the Caliber 9001 — a 380-component movement that packs an annual calendar, dual time zone, and date into a single interface controlled by the ingenious Ring Command bezel. That fluted bezel isn't just decorative — it's a mechanical input device. Rotate it to one of three positions, and the crown adjusts a different function: local time, reference time, or date and month. Rolex calls the annual calendar system "Saros," and it automatically accounts for months of different lengths, requiring manual correction only once a year on March 1st. The month is indicated by twelve small apertures around the dial edge, with a red marker highlighting the current month. The 326934 in White Rolesor pairs an Oystersteel case and bracelet with a solid 18K white gold Ring Command bezel — a combination that gives you precious metal presence without the full gold commitment. This reference was discontinued in 2023 when Rolex introduced the 336934 with the updated Caliber 9002, making the original 9001-powered Sky-Dweller a closed chapter in the lineup.
