Breitling Navitimer Automatic 38 — Ref. A17325211C1P1

IN PRODUCTION
The Navitimer is one of the most recognized watch designs in history, and most people only know it as a chronograph — three subdials, a busy face, a 41-43mm case that demands wrist real estate. This reference strips all of that away and asks what happens when you keep just the parts of the Navitimer that actually made it iconic. The answer is this: the beaded circular slide rule bezel — still fully functional for multiplication, division, unit conversion, fuel burn calculations, the whole AOPA aviation toolkit — sitting above a clean, uncluttered blue sunray dial with nothing on it but applied steel indexes, luminous polished hands, a fine-printed minutes track, and a date window at 6 o'clock. No chronograph subdials, no pushers, no visual noise. At 38mm and 9.94mm thick, it wears in a dimensional class entirely separate from the standard Navitimer chronograph — this is a watch that disappears under a French cuff and then catches light on the slide rule bezel when your wrist turns, which is exactly the kind of quiet mechanical confidence that a 43mm chronograph physically cannot deliver.
The blue sunray dial against the silver tachymeter flange and the matching blue alligator strap creates a monochromatic palette that reads as modern and deliberately restrained, and the domed sapphire crystal glareproofed on both sides gives the dial a depth and warmth that a flat crystal wouldn't carry. The Breitling Caliber 17 is a COSC-certified chronometer based on the ETA 2824-2 — one of the most proven and easily serviceable automatic architectures in Swiss watchmaking — running at 28,800 vph with a 38-hour reserve. The solid screwed caseback and two-gasket pull/push crown keep the case sealed to 30 meters, and the bidirectional rotating bezel operates with the same beaded grip and satisfying detent action that's been on the Navitimer since 1952. This is the Navitimer for someone who loves the design but never needed the chronograph.
