Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M "Captain's Watch"

Ref. 231.10.42.21.02.002 — 41.5mm, Silver Teak Concept Dial

There are Aqua Terras, and then there is this Aqua Terra.
At first glance it carries all the quiet confidence the line is famous for — that clean, symmetrical dial, the sword-straight case lines, the effortless way it slips from a boardroom to a Saturday sail. But spend a moment with this particular reference and you begin to understand why collectors seek it out specifically rather than settling for whichever Aqua Terra happens to be nearest.
This is the "Captain's Watch," created to mark Omega's role as Official Timekeeper of the 2012 Ryder Cup. That heritage isn't a sticker on the box — it's woven into the character of the piece. The silvery lacquered dial wears Omega's signature "Teak Concept" pattern, those fine vertical grooves inspired by the polished teak decks of luxury sailing yachts. Light travels across it like it travels across water: shifting, alive, never quite the same twice. It's the kind of detail you don't fully appreciate in photographs — it reveals itself on the wrist, in real light, over time. That's the mark of genuine craftsmanship.
What truly sets it apart from its siblings in the line is the movement beneath. This reference is powered by the Co-Axial Calibre 8500 — a fully in-house Omega movement built from the ground up around George Daniels' revolutionary Co-Axial escapement, not adapted from an outside base. Twin barrels mounted in series deliver a genuine 60-hour power reserve, the free-sprung balance holds its rate with remarkable stability, and the whole assembly is finished with Geneva waves in arabesque — visible in full through the sapphire caseback. It's COSC chronometer-certified, so its precision is independently proven, not merely promised.
For the collector who appreciates the Aqua Terra's understated brilliance but wants a piece with a story — a specific moment, a specific purpose, a dial that rewards a second look — the 231.10.42.21.02.002 is the one that stands apart. Discontinued and increasingly hard to find, it rewards the person who knows exactly what they're looking at.
Refined enough to dress up. Robust enough to live with. Distinctive enough to be yours.
