The standard Navitimer chronograph is one of the most recognizable watches ever made — and Breitling limited this version to a thousand individually numbered examples for a reason. The Aurora Blue dial shifts the entire personality of the Navitimer away from the black-and-white cockpit instrument it's been since 1952 and into something with depth and color that the regular catalog has never offered in this combination. Arabic numeral hour markers replace the standard batons, giving the three-register chronograph layout a more classical, almost dressy legibility, and the red central chronograph seconds hand cuts across that blue field with a visual sharpness that draws the eye to the one thing a chronograph is supposed to do — measure elapsed time. Through the exhibition sapphire caseback you're looking directly at the Cal. The bidirectional rotating bezel carries the full circular slide rule — functional for multiplication, division, unit conversion, fuel consumption, rate-time-distance calculations — and the polished stainless steel bezel ring reflects the same finishing as the case.
